Shuichiro Kawamura , Founder & CEO

Extensive experience and network in the field of energy and environment industry in Japan.
Founded EEI in 2006 as Japan���s pioneer in clean-tech VC investment.
Shuichiro started building his clean tech industry network as industry analyst at the Industrial Bank of Japan from ���96 to 2000. During this time he served as an advisor to the government at the regulatory committee in Ministry of International Trade and Industry overlooking the deregulation of the Energy industry, building close ties with the nation���s policy makers.
2000-2003, Shuichiro continued to advise the energy and environment industry at Mizuho Securities Investment Bank Unit, engaging in Equity Offerings and M&A advisory services. In 2003, Shuichiro started his first company, Industrial Decisions Inc, (IDI) which he founded and served as CEO for three years. IDI is Japan���s first energy and environment strategic consulting firm. IDI was born by Shuichiro meeting the founder of Strategic Decisions Group at Stanford (SRI spin-off). Within 1 year of partnering with SDG, Shuichiro had won over 20 projects with Japanese utility firms. By combining and leveraging his network in Japan and SDG���s decision analysis methodology, he successfully led the company to become Japan���s well known leader in this field.

Tohru Nishikawa, Managing Director

Deep knowledge of start-up & establishment business practices on both sides of the Pacific. Brings valuable bi-cultural communication skills to Biz Dev situations.
Tohru co-founded NuCORE Technology in Sunnyvale in 1997 when leaving an elite big company for a start-up was still quite rare in the Japanese society. NuCORE was a leading provider of digital and analog imaging hardware and software solutions for digital cameras. As Co-founder and VP Corporate Development, he was responsible for developing the business model, strategy, marketing, business development, according to the development stage of the company. As acting CFO, Tohru led various financial activities, including multiple rounds of equity financing from Silicon Valley VCs.
Upon returning to Tokyo in 2003, Tohru has managed and advised multiple technology ventures as well as consulted for venture capital and IT consulting firms. Prior to NuCORE, he worked for 8 years at the Industrial Bank of Japan, where his responsibilities ranged from M&A, Corporate analyst, and marketing of new securities businesses.

Kenyu Hosoya, Managing Director

At the Industrial Bank of Japan, Ltd., he worked at Tokyo HQ and Osaka branch, where his responsibilities included US bonds and derivatives trading, and financial system management/operations. In 1997, he joined Digital Garage, Inc, a leading IT incubator. where he became financial director, and focused on streamlining management structure for an IPO. He founded an IT marketing firm in 1998, managed all operational and financial aspects of the venture.
He joined Cybozu, the top enterprise software company in 2004, became a director in business management in 2005, and a vice- president & CFO in 2006, where he spearheaded efforts to elevating Cyboz to the 1st section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. He was also responsible for over 10 strategic acquisitions in this capacity. In 2007 he joined Nikkatsu Corp, Japan���s oldest film company with rich content portfolio and led the formulation of business strategy and led business development efforts. Kenyu joined EEI in 2009. He graduated from Hitotsubashi University, majored in economics.
